How long does it take to visit Favignana and Levanzo?

Visiting the island of Favignana is very simple given its small size. Today this building is owned by the municipality and is the seat of the Municipal Council, as well as the municipal library, a Tourist Info Point and a small antiquarium.

Continuing you can take a nice walk in the old town, where you can see the stalls and shops offering pieces of local handicrafts and you can conveniently stop at a bar or restaurant for a quick lunch.

Finally, approaching the port again, but going in the opposite direction of the Villa, you can visit the former Florio Establishment of the Tonnare of Favignana and Formica, which will tell you the history of the Island. When the family of entrepreneurs bought the island of Favignana, they took over this old trap, expanding it and bringing the best innovations of the time. Suffice it to think that it was the first Italian trap to canned tuna in the can after the process of processing the fish.

Thanks to this structure more than a thousand people found employment, carefully dividing the tasks, thus giving the opportunity to be reborn to many families on the island and beyond. That is why it has played such an important role, to the point that it has remained indelible in history.
